Omet works when the person on the other end is glad they answered. These are the rules that make that possible, and what happens when someone ignores them.

Who may be here
You must be at least 18 years old to use Omet. That is not a stylistic choice about the kind of site this is — it is a hard requirement, and accounts that do not meet it are removed without warning.
You are responsible for your own account. Do not share it, do not sell it, and do not let anyone else appear on camera under it.
The five rules
1. Keep your clothes on
No nudity, no sexual acts, no sexual content of any kind on camera. This applies whether or not the other person asked for it, and whether or not they said yes.
2. Nobody under 18, in frame or otherwise
Any content involving a minor is removed, the account is terminated permanently, and the matter is reported to the appropriate authorities. There is no version of this we negotiate.
3. No harassment, hate, or threats
Attacks on someone's race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or appearance are not banter. Neither are threats, stalking, or repeated contact after someone has left a conversation.
4. Do not use Omet to take money from people
No solicitation, no fake emergencies, no links to payment pages, no moving someone to another app to make a request you would not make here. Recording someone in order to pressure them is extortion, and it is treated as such.
5. Be a person, not a rig
No pre-recorded video played as a live camera, no bots, no scripts, no automation that pretends to be someone. If it is not you on the other end, it does not belong here.
What good looks like
- Say something. The openers on the homepage exist precisely for this moment.
- Take "no" the first time — about a topic, a request, or the call itself.
- Leave politely when it is not working. "Nice talking, take care" costs nothing.
- Assume the other person is nervous too. They usually are.
Reports and enforcement
Reports are read by people. Depending on what we find, the outcome is a warning, a temporary suspension, or permanent removal. Rule 2 is always permanent, and never a warning.
We keep the minimum information needed to act on a report and to stop a removed account from simply returning. What we keep and for how long is set out in the Privacy Policy.
If we got it wrong
Moderation at any scale makes mistakes, and we would rather fix one than defend it. If your account was actioned and you think that was wrong, write to us through the contact page with what happened and roughly when. Say it plainly; there is no form to fill in.
