Cookie Policy

Omet stores a small amount of data on your device so the service can work and so we can tell what is broken. Here is what each piece is for.

What these are

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We also use related browser storage such as local storage, which works the same way from your point of view. "Cookies" below means all of it.

What we use them for

Strictly necessary

Keeping you signed in between pages, holding your session together during a call, remembering that you have accepted these terms, and protecting against abuse and fraud. The service does not work without these, so they are not optional.

Preferences

Remembering choices you have made — language, and interface settings — so you do not set them again on every visit.

Analytics

Understanding, in aggregate, which pages are opened and where people give up, so we can fix the parts that do not work. This is about the product, not about you personally, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile.

We do not run third-party advertising cookies on Omet, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.

Third parties

Some cookies are set by providers who run parts of the service for us — payment processing, real-time video delivery, and analytics. They act on our instructions for those purposes.

Rather than print a vendor table here that goes stale the first time we change provider, you can see the exact list live: open your browser's developer tools on any Omet page and look under Application → Storage. If you would like it in writing for a specific date, ask us.

Controlling them

Every major browser lets you view and delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or block them entirely — usually under Settings → Privacy. Private or incognito windows discard them when you close the window.

One honest warning: blocking the strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in or holding a call. That is not a dark pattern, it is what a session is.

Changes

If this policy changes, the review date at the top of the page changes with it. How we handle personal data more broadly is set out in the Privacy Policy.
